    MAGLITE XL-100

    The Maglite XL100 features Mag's new "Advanced Flashlight User Interface" that allows you to easily adjust the brightness or strobe rate by rotating your wrist right or left while holding the XL100 flashlight. This flashlight contains an array of gravity sensors that tell the flashlight what position it is in in space. Rather than using different buttons or click patterns to switch among the flashlight's five modes, you simply rotate the flashlight with your hand until you reach the desired setting. This takes a little getting used to - it is definitely a new idea in flashlight interface design - but once you get the hang of it, it works well.

    With its convenient memory function, the next time you turn on the XL100 it will automatically use the level you have previously selected.

    • Operation of the MagLite XL100 LED Flashlight:
    • press and release the tail switch for constant on, press again for off
    • to select a mode, hold the flashlight horizontal to the ground with the icon of the desired mode
    • At the 12 o'clock position, press and hold the switch for longer than 1 second
    • Brightness of the XL100 can be adjusted by continuing to press the tailcap while rotating your wrist right or left; release at desired level
    • Blink rate of the XL100 can be changed by selected the "Strobe" mode icon, hold the tail switch and rotate your wrist right or left; release at desired level
    • Nite Lite - select Nite Lite mode icon, press and hold switch until the XL100 blinks once, then set the flashlight at desired stationary location and the light will automatically dim to a low brightness setting; if the flashlight is moved, it will return to full power
    • Lockout - this feature will prevent accidental activation; to engage, aim the XL100 to the ceiling, then press and hold the switch while rotating the flashlight downward and aiming the light to the floor, release the switch, it is now in lockout mode; repeat steps to disengage lockout
